After IPC service on June 23 at 11:30am, we will be officially “plugging in” to our nearest star the Sun, for our electricity.
The Irvington Presbyterian Church is committed to reducing our carbon footprint – for ourselves, for future generations and out of respect for this beautiful world that God has entrusted us with!
We hope to encourage others in the community to SOLARIZE as well – help us spread the word, share the sun, and save the Earth!
After switching to LED lights – we saved $7,000 a year on electricity! Now with the use of our 114 solar panels we will be saving $9,000 a year. That savings will go toward paying off the cost, installation and maintenance of the solar panels.
We are hoping that our generous and inspired congregants will help us pay off the cost of the solar panel sooner by Sponsoring a Panel for $1,000. We will be providing sponsorship certificates and a commemorative plaque will be made for the purpose of encouraging others to do more to save our planet.
SPECIAL OFFER TO THE YOUTH OF OUR CHURCH AND COMMUNITY Each solar panel has 96 independently functioning solar cells and you are welcome to sponsor a cell for $1. That’s right – for the cost of a candy bar or a pack of gum you will be the proud owner of your own IPC solar panel (but you can’t take it with you).
Thank you to all those who have worked tirelessly on our Going Green Mission; whether it be recycling, reducing, repurposing, solarizing, composting or something else; it’s all adding up to a healthier planet!
