Irvington Presbyterian Church welcomes singers to participate in one or more of our choirs as we start up the 2024-25 program year! No matter your age, how you pray or if you pray, who you love, how you vote, or how well or not you read music – if you love to sing, you are welcome to join us.
The Chancel Choir consists of singers high school age and older. They rehearse 8:45-10:00 AM on Sundays and sing at most Sunday 10:30 services from September through late spring. We have professional singers (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) to anchor and empower the other singers in the section.
The Community Choir consists of singers of all ages and rehearses and performs seasonally. They sing Part One of Handel’s Messiah every December with professional soloists and chamber orchestra, as well as a concert in the spring some offerings of which included the Requiems of Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Duruflé, Morten Lauriden’s Lux aeterna, and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs.
The Children’s Choir consists of singers ages 4-13 and they sing on occasional Sundays. They usually rehearse after the Sunday 10:30 service four weeks before a performance.
